Sweet Pea

The Sweet Pea, strangely enough, is a flower that is related to legumes, and is native to the Mediterranean and from Sicily to the country of Crete. Its bright colorful flowers make for a pleasing sight for sore eyes, and the fragrant flowers from this plant has been used in the perfume industry. Another strange thing is that this flower is poisonous if consumed in large quantities, however, its relative, the legume, is actually made and grown for human consumption. Many different experiments in the terms of hybridization was made with this flower, including the makings of a blue hybrid flower. However, the main color of yellow is done without any genetic engineering involved.
