Marigold

Marigold has around 51 different varieties and is native to the countries of the United States, Mexico, and throughout the continent of South America. Their colors vary and include, but are not limited to white, gold, yellow, orange and even red. Even though it is native to the above countries, It has been naturalized as a weed in Australia, Africa and the State of Hawaii. An interesting fact to know is this flower is named for the Virgin Mary's Gold. Another interesting fact is that these flowers are used in medicinal teas in Mexico and other versions of this flower are used in the perfume industry.
