Hamamelis

The Hamamelis flower is commonly known as the Witch Hazel flower, and has three different species that are native to just North America. This flower's name means "together with fruit" and its fruit flowers and leaf buds all appear on the branch at the same time. This in and of itself is rare in flowering trees. It is also known as the snapping hazel. This flower is a highly popular ornamental plant. Grown for its beautiful clusters of flowers, it comes in yellow to orange-red flowers and is one of the rare plants that bloom throughout the winter months. This flower has many medicinal uses including treatment of bruises and insect bites.
