Foxglove
The Foxglove is also known as the Digitalis and has around 20 different variety of flowers, perennials, shrubs and biennials. This flower is native to the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa. The scientific name Digitalis was named for the finger like projections on the flower. Because of its flashy and showy array of different flowers, it is commonly used as an ornamental plant. It comes in the colors of purple, pink, white, and yellow. In addition to its decorative purposes, it has other great usages in medicine, first treating a wide variety of heart conditions in the 1700s. It was also used for the treatment of a wide variety of different epileptic seizure disorders but is now considered inappropriate for treatment of these disorders.
