Dogs Mercury

Dogs Mercury is a woodland type of plant that is native to most of Europe except for the countries of Ireland, Orkney and Shetland. It is a perennial flower that blooms at its peak in the months of March and April. It resembles a carpet on the earthen ground and is mainly found in woodlands beneath the hedgerows. The type of soil favored by this type of flower is alkaline but also has a taste for the limestone regions of Europe. This plant loves to thrive in shady areas and is associated with shrub cover. The reason this flower has this name is that it is highly poisonous-such so that it was considered bad or false. Other names for this flower is the boggard posy.
