Dahlia

The Dahlia flower is named after Anders Dahl, a famous botanist from the country of Sweden. This flower has around 30 different varieties and around 20,000 different cultivars. The colors of this flower include but are not limited to white, purple, yellow, lavender, orange, pink, bronze, flame colored and red. There are many bi colored flowers of this variety as well. Its history is this: In the end of the 18th century, someone sent a box full of the roots of this flower to Holland from Mexico. However due to the trip, only one of the roots of this flower survived. When it was fully grown it produced a red colored flower with the rolled black petals. Almost instantly this flower became immensely popular, and is still popular to this day.
