The Black Eyed Susan is a very common flower in most of North America. This name was given to this flower due to the dark purplish brown centers these flowers tend to have. This flower has an average height of around 1 meter and is covered by thick coarse hair. It is a summer flower, mainly blooming in the months of June, July and August. This flower is also the Maryland State Flower. Its medicinal purposes have included using the juice from the roots as earache relief drops.
