Aster

Aster comes from the Greek word meaning “Star”, which in this case refers to the shape of the flower and its petals. There are more than 600 different varieties of this flower. Because of this alone it leads to a variety of different colorful flowers. The aster is also used as food by the larva of the Lepidoptera insect species. This is a hardy flower, growing in all zones. The rarer species of this flower is the Goldilocks, which is mainly found in the United Kingdom.
